Corporate Data & Franchisee Control
Fantastic Sams website was quite dated, error prone and relied entirely on their internal IT team to update it. Only the most basic information was ever available about salon locations and the services the salons offered. Products could be browsed but the user experience was lacking. Additional sites represented regions and regional offers.
Visit their new Drupal site on your mobile phone or any other device and see how salon owners have been given the power to update their own salon's information. Check out the products section to see clear and concise information on products. Use the salon finder to find a nearby salon and get directions.

Taking a Flat Iron to the Data
Bonify first guided the Fantastic Sams team to create multiple data feeds for basic salon data, current salon owners, regions, regional managers and advertising areas. We then used these feeds to create a nightly migration and sync of the data maintained in the corporate databases with the Drupal website.
The data from the corporate office is then used as a starting point for Salon owners to add their own information to, such as salon hours, pricing, specials, and so on. As new salons open or change hands, the ability to edit salons in Drupal is granted or revoked for salon owners and salon owner users are created or blocked.
Regions are created and maintained using both Fantastic Sams internal system and the Nielsen "designated market area" system. Regional managers are associated with salons in their region and granted the ability to update all salons in their area.
